Three local schools were two wins away from bringing a state championship back to northwest ohio heading into Wednesday night. In Division I, Norhview was playing theseventh-ranked team in the country in Strongsville at Sandusky. The Lady Kats already knocked off the number-one team in the state when they beat Perrysburg in the Regionals but are beaten 3-0 in the semi-finals. It wasn't any easier for St. Ursula in Division II. Down in Tiffin, the Arrows were playing Cuyhoga Walsh Jesuit, the second-ranked team in the country. Walsh won the Division I title last year before dropping down to Division II this year. Both teams played to a scoreless tie in regulation and then into overtime and double-overtime. After a round of penalty kicks didn't settle matters, the game moved to a second-round of penalty kicks where Kiley Armstrong scored the game-winner. Walsh had a shot to tie but their attempt sailed over the crossbar. Ursula will play for a state title on Saturday at 3:30 in Columbus Crew Stadium. In Division III, Archbold was already having the best season in school history but that would come to an end in Clyde, where the Streaks fall 1-0 to Shaker Heights Laurel.
